Family Support Services

The Mental Health Association’s (MHA) Family Support Services (FSS) provides support to families in Cattaraugus County that have a child or children with emotional or behavioral challenges. These support services can be provided within the family’s own home and/or community and can involve general support, advocacy and parent education/training. All services are provided by parent partners who have their own personal experiences within the mental health services delivery system and can share those experiences with others having similar challenges.

Most importantly, like a cast on a broken bone, family support offers the added support a family needs while they are healing and empowers them to stretch and grow and become effective advocates for their own needs and stand on their own when services are gone.
