Mental health problems do not affect three or four out of every five persons but one out of one.

-Dr. William Menninger

At the Mental Health Association in Cattaraugus County, we understand that mental health matters affect both the family and friends of individuals with mental health needs. The following are services that we offer to families and services you may wish to encourage your loved ones to utilize.

  • Family Support Services: See what advocacy and support services are available for families with a child who has social, emotional, and/or behavioral needs.
  • Camp New Horizons: See if your child is eligible to attend our free therapeutic summer camp for children with social, emotional, and/or behavioral needs.
  • Friendship Club: Encourage your loved one to join peers in a relaxed social setting to work toward meeting his or her recovery goals.
  • Compeer and Compeer for Youth: Encourage your loved one to get matched with a mentor from the community to engage in life-enhancing activities which help to ease his or her recovery.
  • No One Way Teen Support Group: Your teen (high school up to age 21) can meet weekly with other teens to help each other cope with life in their "own way."
